A Use-less Building

Exploring the concept of a ‘long life loose fit’ architecture, the proposed 'use-less building' is capable of accommodating unforeseeable change of content, either socially or environmentally induced, while its physical fabric remains permanent. It identifies and explores the two types of architectural adaptability – the robust, enduring concrete structure allows for spatial versatility, while the flexible timber frame adapts formally to the specificity of future programmes.
