Landscape with Poplars

The decommissioning of the Eni and Penreco terminals within Bacton Gas Station mark an opportunity to reconsider our interaction with nature. As the site’s industrial era is drawn to a close, its reimagination as a woodland enforces a dissolution of the boundary between artifice and nature within the Norfolk landscape. Constructing upon the site’s post-industrial condition, unique habitats for activity are hosted under the canopy of the trees. The architecture of the landscape, and the building within, serve to cultivate this activity, curating architectural space that facilitates the unfolding of the site’s future possibilities.
